Your Role

• Within the Research and Development department, you are responsible for innovative product developments in the field of food colours and coatings.
• One of your main tasks is to conduct and lead innovation and customer projects, initiated through analysis and evaluation of the raw material market, current technology trends, or specialized literature research.
• You evaluate new colour formulations regarding their physicochemical and colouring properties using spectrophotometric and other analytical methods and translate the results into specification recommendations.
• You develop application recommendations for the use of various colour formulations in our B2B and customer-specific B2C products.
• Cross-functional coordination and communication with departments such as product management, production, application, regulatory, purchasing, and quality assurance are an essential part of your role.
• You are responsible for the development and optimization of processes for the production of colouring products with the best properties in terms of stability, colour strength, and handling.
• You provide technical support for scaling processes from laboratory and pilot scale to industrial production.
• You review and evaluate patents and developments in your field and work with the patent team to develop strategies to protect proprietary knowledge.
You are co-responsible for leading external research projects and participate in partnerships with startups.

Your Profile

• You have successfully completed your studies in food or beverage technology, food chemistry, or a comparable field, preferably with a Ph.D.
• You have initial professional experience in the field of natural colours or have a strong interest in transitioning from an independent research institution to the industry.
• You are an initiator of innovative products and approach the development opportunities available with a proactive and creative attitude.
• You combine a good sense of customer needs and market trends with high analytical and conceptual skills.
• Your colleagues appreciate your reliable and independent working style.
• Your open and communicative nature allows you to quickly build a professional and cross-departmental network.
Your working languages are English and German.
