Research in the Trujillo lab focuses on understanding ubiquitin signalling and its roles in the regulation of immune responses and general protein homeostasis. Ubiquitination is a post-translational modification involved in all aspect of cellular physiology. Previous and ongoing research in the Lab has uncovered key roles of ubiquitination in the regulation intracellular vesicle transport and its interplay with signalling stemming from immune receptor kinases.

Position SUMMARY

The successful candidate will work on the development of strategies for targeted protein degradation (TPD) to study ubiquitination mechanisms regulating immune signalling. The selected person will use a multidisciplinary approach combining protein Biochemistry (protein-protein interaction analysis, enzyme activity assays, protein purification, synthetic biology, mass-spectrometry), and organic chemistry (organic synthesis) to develop PROTACs in plants.

REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for an early career researcher with expertise in protein biochemistry and willing to learn about organic synthesis of vice-versa. Requirements are a PhD (full award), excellent English and enthusiasm for science.

Reviewing of applications will start February 15st and continue until Position is filled. The Position is available immediately (starting date negotiable).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The Position is for two years with possible extension. Salary will be according to the German Public Sector Agreement (E13, 100%) commensurate to qualifications and experience.
